Famed Czech master of surreal animation Jan Svankmajer brings his dark talents to a magically creepy, loose adaptation of Lewis Carroll's loopy fantasy Alice in Wonderland. Little Alice is the only human, live-action figure present in a stop-motion world of bizarre sawdust-stuffed creatures and enchanted objects. Alice wanders the subterranean land she has followed the White Rabbit into, changing sizes by eating tarts or drinking ink. When she shrinks, she becomes an eerie Victorian-doll version. Much weirder than the more well-known film versions, Svankmajer's take will mean you'll never look at your sock drawer or kitchen utensils the same way again.

I found this film disturbing. I don't recommend this film to young viewers. I normally like Alice in Wonderland but this spin on the film was too creepy. I liked the idea of the film, I just didn't like the actual film.

I gave this film a one star because the director put effort into it. Yet his spin on this beautiful story is disgusting and the morals are awful. I did not enjoy watching this and I do not recommend this for anybody between the ages of 0-13 because the ideas are particularly nasty. Though, the creator did a very good animation and created a tense atmosphere. I would not recommend this film.

I think the film is a little creepy, but funny at the same time, this is what makes it different to many other films. It is clever. The way it has combined stop - motion and real people is quite clever and the film itself is not as bad as I thought it would be, but it wasn't the most interesting film I have seen.
