FILMCLUB Live November: catch up on our final webcast week of 2012

The FILMCLUB Live studio was once again a hive of activity as we brought you our best webcast week yet! We had costume designers, animators, screenwriters and casting directors, as well as some wild and wonderful friends to close the week! Watch all the webcasts again here:

Monday 26 November

3.30-3.50pm - A look into the stunning art of costume design with Vinilla Burnham, who discusses some of her most creative designs - including the Batsuit for Tim Burton's Batman. (suitable for Primary clubs)

4.00-4.20pm -  We meet Deborah Nadoolman Landis, creator of the Indiana Jones costume and senior curator of the Hollywood Costume Exhibition at the Victoria & Albert Museum in London. Vinilla Burnham reveals some more of her most high-profile costume designs. (suitable for Secondary clubs)

Tuesday 27 November

3.30-3.50pm - Gruffalo and Room On The Broom producer Daryl Shute speaks to us LIVE. Want to know how animations are produced? Here is your chance! (suitable for Primary clubs)

 

 

4.00-4.20pm - Anti-Slavery Day - legendary British documentarian Nick Broomfield talks to us LIVE about his film Ghosts, which is part of our Slavery Unlocked Topic. (suitable for Secondary clubs)

Wednesday 28 November

3.30-3.50pm - We go behind the scenes at the BAFTA Children's Awards! We also speak to the awards producer Marc Baker who tells us all about his exciting job. (suitable for Primary clubs)

4.00-4.20pm - We celebrate the release of new movie Great Expectations by speaking LIVE to the film's screenwriter, David Nicholls.

The film is based on the famous Charles Dickens book. What were the challenges of adapting it for the big screen? Tune in to find out! (suitable for Secondary clubs)

Thursday 29 November

3.30-3.50pm - It's the 30th anniversary of E.T - we'll be marking the occasion by talking LIVE to BFI children's programmer Justin Johnson. The film expert will tell us about some of his favourite creatures ever created by cinema. (suitable for Primary clubs)

4.00-4.20pm - We have a sneak preview of Peter Jackson's The Hobbit and a look at Tower House School's DIY version of the classic J. R. R. Tolkien story. We're also lucky enough to be joined by Amy Hubbard, casting director for all three of The Hobbit films.  (suitable for Secondary clubs)

Friday 30 November

3.30-3.50pm - We'll be speaking LIVE to cinema's very own Dr. Dolittle - Animal wrangler Trevor Smith. He has over 30 years experience training animals for the big screen and he'll be arriving with friends...a tarantula and a speaking crow!  (suitable for Primary clubs)

4.00-4.20pm - Trevor Smith joins us again to talk about his wild adventures in Hollywood - which include providing the bats for Batman and rats for Mission Impossible! (suitable for Secondary clubs)
