P'tang Yang Kipperbang FilmClub Recommends

P'tang Yang Kipperbang (PG)

Running Time : 76 mins

Year Produced : 1982

Director : Michael Apted
Cast : Alison Steadman   Abigail Cruttenden   Maurice Dee   John Albasiny   Mark Brailsford

Alan wants to kiss Ann. Ann has barely even noticed that Alan exists, but the school play is going to give him the chance to change that. And that's pretty much the entire plot of this terrific film - along with Alan's obsession with cricket - but what more do you need? Set just after the Second World War - though the story is timeless - it's a painfully accurate and very funny portrayal of the agonies of first love.
