Delos is like no other theme park you’ve ever been before – divided into three different “worlds” (MedievalWorld, RomanWorld and WesternWorld), it’s populated entirely by incredibly realistic robots, programmed to never harm the human visitors and to do exactly what they’re told. So when two old friends arrive on site, they’re convinced they’re going to have the experience of a lifetime. And they do – but after a computer glitch means that the robots rebel and start trying to kill the tourists around them, it’s not quite the experience either of them had in mind. This is an unforgettable tale of a future gone haywire.

Fascinating facts
Michael Crichton became inspired to write this film after a trip to Disneyland, where he saw the Pirates of the Caribbean ride, and was impressed by the animatronic characters.
The clothes and styling of “The Gunslinger” – the cowboy robot played in Westworld by Yul Bryner – are closely based on Bryner’s character in the western The Magnificent Seven.
