HG Wells' pioneering sci-fi story about Earth being invaded by Martians is shifted from Victorian Surrey to 21st-century New Jersey for this big-budget movie version. It is, though, still the story of an ordinary man who becomes a refugee in his own country as the people panic when they realise that neither politicians nor the military have any answer to the massive alien tripods striding across the landscape. Tom Cruise stars and Steven Spielberg directs this unusually sombre action adventure movie.

i think that war of the worlds is an action packed movie but i am a bit surprised that it is a 12 because some of the horror parts where enough to scare my mum.

War of the worlds is a classic fil in with a spectacular and surprising plot. I thought that it was a great film and it had me guessing and on edge evry second until the end. The acting was superb mixed with great special effects, which, for me makes a 5 star movie!!!

I thought that War of the worlds was an exciting new modern twist on the already epic story.

With amazing CGI effects and an alrwady great story, you’d think that anything could go wrong.

Unfortunatly i believe that the story lacked that certain spark that previous versions had, it kept your attention through out the film but it didn’t have the thing making you think ‘i want to watch that again’.

This film isn’t a must see but is a good watch for anyone a fan of Action/thriller and previous war of the worlds.

I thought it was a good film.With bits not suitable(scary)for childern.Tom Crusie is very good at acting in this film

Fascinating facts

During the underwater scenes, Steven Spielberg played the Jaws music to Tom Cruise and Dakota Fanning through loud underwater speakers as a joke.
