This movie from the African country of Mauritania has a slow and hypnotic quality - but although it's not packed with action, it's still worth your time. The film follows teenager Abdallah as he visits his mother one last time before for leaving for the life in a Western city that he craves. The movie intercuts Abdallah's farewell with haunting scenes of the tiny seaside town in which the film is set. This an unusual movie that may need a little patience as it unfolds, but one that many people watching will find incredibly rewarding.
