The setting is 16th-century Japan, and civil war is raging. Genjuro, a potter, decides to take the chance to go to the city and make it rich - abandoning his wife and children in the village. During his adventures, he meets a beautiful woman, but she isn’t exactly what she seems to be. Meanwhile, his best friend has blown all his savings in his dream of becoming a samurai. This is a sad and beautiful story with supernatural elements.
