It is the early 1940s, and World War II is raging. In a remote corner of Scotland, young Angus MacMorrow knows that his father may have been killed fighting for his country. Out one day on the beach near his house, he finds a huge and mysterious egg – from which hatches a strange-looking beast he named “Crusoe”. Soon, it becomes apparent that the creature is a sea serpent which belongs in the nearby loch – that being the famous Loch Ness. Angus and the sweet-natured and loveable Crusoe soon form a powerful bond. But eventually the the time is going to come when the Water Horse is going to have leave for the open sea – so will it be able to leave the loch safely? Having won comparisons to such childrens’ classics as ET, this is an incredibly warm and likeable movie, which never underestimates your intelligence, and is all the more enjoyable as a result.

This film is about a boy and his family during the war. The boy is looking forward to his dad coming home from war but his mum is hiding something from him. The boy finds an egg in the sea and takes it home. When the egg cracks open, out comes an incredible creature. As the creature grows, it gets more difficult to keep the creature hidden but the boy cannot bear to be parted with it. It is a very emotional film and one I would highly recommend.

I thought this film was sad at times, but I really enjoyed it. The story was about a boy who found an egg and took it home. He keeps it a big secret from his mum.
