Based on real characters and events, The Tuskegee Airmen tells the story of the first African-Americans to be recruited to serve as fighter pilots by the US Air Force during World War II. After training in Tuskegee, Alabama, they are sent to fight in North Africa – but when a mission goes disastrously wrong, the entire unit is summoned to a military court to decide whether the Air Force’s “experiment” should be ended. A powerful account of a true story, the movie features great performances from a cast including the ever-reliable Laurence Fishburne.
