As the title suggests, the English king George III has gone down in history as being barking mad. This stage play-based drama takes a poignant yet frequently amusing look at the 18th-century monarch's alleged slide into insanity, and the political and personal repercussions that followed. With the king acting loopy and the period's doctors unable to accurately diagnose his condition, even his supposed allies try to take advantage. Parliament and the royal court plot and backstab, while George's son, the scheming Prince of Wales, wants the throne for himself.
