Set during the Great Depression, this is a superb adaptation of John Steinbeck’s celebrated novel. The Joads are a farming family who are forced to flee their home in Oklahoma following the dust bowl storms and ensuing drought. They decide to head for California, where they hope to start a new and better life. But they’re not the only people with that idea - and face more hardships and struggle on the long journey.
