While on their way to start a new life in New Guinea, the Robinson family are shipwrecked on a tropical island. The parents and their three sons discover a wide variety of animals and plants on the small island, and resolve to make the best of their situation, building a giant treehouse to live in. But at the same time, they must contend with the hardships of trying to survive in nature at its wildest - and also with the threat of a gang of pirates who roam the waters around the island. Will they ever be able to make it back to civilisation?
