Arthur Seaton reckons he’s got life sorted. He works hard in a bicycle factory during the week so he’ll have the cash to spend on the things that he considers most important - sharp suits, beer and girls. Although this film was made almost fifty years ago, Arthur’s attitude – and the problems that come with it – remain timeless, and the plot and the rest of the cast are essentially there to back up one of the great British film characters in a movie that’s a “time capsule” of the early 1960s while still being relevant to modern life.
