A powerful film that proves that children can be heroes too. In 1930s Australia, children born to mixed race parents were often taken from their Aboriginal mothers by the state to be brought up working as servants for white families. And that is the fate which awaits the half-Aboriginal Molly Craig, her cousin and younger sister after they are sent to a re-settlement cap. But Molly and the other two girls escape and attempt to return to their real home - heading for the 1500 mile long rabbit-proof fence that will finally lead them back where they belong.

Rabbit-Proof Fence had a sad storyline and it looked like a good film but it wasn’t as good as i thought is would be.It was very slow moving.

I rate it about 2 stars out of 5.

i think the Rabbit Proof Fence is probably one of the best films I have watched.I liked the part when they got caught by the man when they were in the bed.It was sad when they got taken away from thier mum.
I would give this film 4 out of 5 stars.

I didnt really like Rabbit Proof Fence because most of the movie was boring and nothing funny happened. I expected more than just a couple of kids getting took away.I like a little bit of the movie but after about 10 minutes it got boring.
I would give this film 3 stars out of 5.

Fascinating facts

Doris Pilkington, author of the book "Follow the Rabbit-Proof Fence", is the daughter of Molly (played by Evelyn Sampi in the film).

The world premiere of Rabbit Proof Fence took place outdoors at Jigalong, the Australian outback community from where the three real girls on who the story is based were taken.
