A classic of 1930s cinema, based on George Bernard Shaw’s play. Henry Higgins is a snooty language professor in Victorian London. He makes a bet that he can transform working class girl Eliza Doolittle into a refined lady, by teaching her how to speak correctly and act properly. It’s certainly hard work, but eventually a new - and, he thinks, improved - Eliza appears. However, she’s still not afraid to tell Higgins what she really thinks of him – for better or worse!

Pygmalion is a film about a poor flower girl who is taught to be a proper lady. She is taught to speak proper English and have ladylike manners. I found it quite sad at some points because the man who teaches her was often far too harsh. I also thought it was amazing how her accent turned from cockney to proper posh English. The character I started to grow quite fond of was the teachers friend who was always telling the teacher to “be reasonable.”
I think this film is a very good watch not my favorite but a lot of fun whilst watching.
Fascinating facts
