When his spacecraft crash lands on a strange planet in the year 3978, astronaut Taylor is simply glad to be alive. But barely has he stumbled from his vessel before he discovers the terrifying nature of this new world – a planet harshly governed by incredibly advanced apes, with what seem like humans forced to act as slaves. In his attempts to escape this nightmarish situation, Taylor leads us towards one of the most unforgettable climaxes in movie history, the perfect ending for a true sci-fi classic.

I thought the film was good. I liked the part were taylor escaped from the prison and strarted beating everybody up until the apes caught him but the bad part was were the apes blew the cave up and the expedition was ruined.
Fascinating facts
Michael Clarke Duncan (Attar) was forced to go to hospital in his gorilla make-up after spraining in his ankle on set
Cast as Taylor in Planet of the Apes, Charlton Heston was suffering with flu while the film was being shot - but the producers of the movie asked that he keep shooting as they liked the gravelly effect the bug was having on his voice.
