Young orphan James (whose parents were eaten by a rhinoceros) escapes from his hated aunts in a huge magic peach that is the home to a group of human-sized and eccentric creatures - including a centipede and a glow-worm. This extraordinary turn of events then inspires an even more remarkable adventure that takes the giant fruit on an epic trip across the Atlantic Ocean. The strange world of Roald Dahl's book is perfectly rendered using the painstaking craft of stop-motion animation.

A greatly mastered movie, adapted from the Roald Dhal novel (god bless him). Initially, it is quite scary; I mean, parents being eaten by a rhino!? *shock* I was too scared to read on! But as time goes on, you realise that it’s just a stupid thought, (but the idea is still pretty horrific *shudders*).
Anyway, back to the movie. It begins off with real people, but once James enters the peach, it all becomes beautifully animated!!! It really surprised me too! :D
There is no end to the humour this movie gave me as a child, and it has stayed in my mind even till now. I really do hope that you will overlook the abysmal storyline (it had to be said! I mean giant insects? Giant peach in New York? Carried by sea gulls? Surely comic, but quite ludicrous *sigh* )and focus on the animation and songs, which were absolutely superb!!!!
I really do hope that you give this a try, and if you end up switching it off half-way through, don’t blame it on me!!!!! :D

When I first saw this very film it taught me to never be afraid of bugs or evil relitives such as, Jameses two anties aunt sponge and aunt spiker and to go after your dream.
Fascinating facts
Author Roald Dahl wrote the lyrics for the song Eating The Peach featured in James and the Giant Peach.
