A lecture on the causes and symptoms of climate change from former US presidential candidate Al Gore, An Inconvenient Truth might sound like the kind of thing best left to a late night slot on a special interest channel. However, it's been a huge hit in cinemas and on DVD, largely due to the lucid and engaging manner in which it explains what our lifestyle is doing to the planet – and just as importantly, how we can attempt to change that.

I thought this was a very interesting film, as it really targets the major issues with global warming. As Al Gore is the person who is telling us about the issues, it lets people know that the government is aware of the issue.

Overall: Not a bad film, can be a bit boring. 3 Stars.

Fascinating facts

The cartoon clip that Al Gore uses to help explain global warming is from the Futurama episode "Crimes Of The Hot"
