Amelie is a heartwarming story about a young woman who decides her mission in life is to spread happiness. Setting about changing the lives of the people she cares about, she also finds time to play outrageous practical jokes on those who are less good-natured. But while she devotes herself to making the world a better place, Amelie also longs to find love herself – and soon thinks she’s found the man of her dreams. Now, all she needs to do is manage to speak to him! Boasting an almost cartoon-like quality, this wonderfully whimsical French film is certain to put a smile on your face. (Subtitled)

One of my favourite films. A funny and touching story of a quiet, almost childlike young woman who tries to help the people around her. The settings are so perfect they could be from a fairytale and the characters are completely unforgettable. Don’t be put of by the fact that it’s in French with subtitles!
