Back in 2006, the British movie Kidulthood presented a hard-edged and realistic portrait of life for ordinary young people in a tough part of west London. Now, Adulthood picks up where Kidulthood left off, following the story of Sam Peel, the former bully whose terrible crime ended the original movie. Having spent six years in prison, Sam is finally released – returning to the same streets where he lived before, he finds that much has changed about his old neighbourhood. But certain things remain the same – and even as Sam tries to break free of the past and create a new life for himself, he finds that others are still seeking revenge for his actions. Like its predecessor, Adulthood pulls no punches in portraying what modern London can hold for its young people.

Hard hitting as the first one with more feeling. Noel Clarke’s Adulthood packs the same punch as the second with a little extra bite. We follow Sam as he is released from prison and tries to track down all the people whose lives he changed the night of the party. We meet new characters and revisit old ones. Jay and Moony find out that Sam has been released and Jay wants blood. Sam tracks down Alisa and meets Trife’s daughter. Meanwhile, a new gang is in town and they’re after Sam’s head, so Sam must find out who is after him and stop them before it is too late. With a heart pounding climax this film is sure to be a huge success like its predecessor.
