Based on real events, A Mighty Heart is a moving account of the killing of the American journalist Daniel Pearl. In January 2002 Pearl, a reporter for the American newspaper the Wall Street Journal, was abducted by terrorists while on his way to what he thought would be an interview with a religious leader in the Pakistani city of Karachi. A few days later, he was brutally murdered for simply being Jewish. Letting its sad story unfold in near-documentary style, this powerful film covers the tragic events surrounding Pearl’s death, and the attempts of his heart-broken wife Mariane to find out what happened to him, and who was responsible.
