A slave struggling to get his freedom would seem to be a rather serious subject. But not in this wild comedy musical about the scheming Pseudolus, who is trying to fix up his master’s son with the new girl in the next-door brothel, part of his plan to end up a Roman freeman. It’s a film with lightning quick dialogue, excellent songs and some of the greatest face-pulling you’ll ever see on screen.
