Having spent their high school years sneering at their fellow students, Enid and Rebecca spend the summer after graduation looking for new targets for their wisecracks. But the question is, outside of school, does that kind of harsh humour make sense anymore? The girls, played by Thora Birch and Scarlet Johansson, are smart, funny and have their own sense of style - but are also just a little bit heartless. But life as a young adult, rather than a schoolkid, has a habit of making people look at life differently - and that's just what happens to both Enid and Rebecca in this terrific and unusual comedy.

This film is spellbinding because of the main characters personality of everyone not being normal.I like the bit when she played a tricked one a man who ended up being a good friend because it shows life can change for the good. I think the Title, Ghost World the meaning is that she is alone and none is normall execept her. So i recommend this film for the original idea of the director Terry Zwigoff . Also the main character played by Thora Birch is an amazing actor. So I fully recommended this film!

I noticed this was on Film4's list of Great Adaptations during the Easter holidays and thought I'd check it out. I'm glad I did. I love the gritty realism, that portrays what I feel, a more realistic representation of teenage life, rather than the "tragic" love storys and rom-coms, where everything ends happily.

    I liked this a lot (:
