This hugely popular British comedy follows the fortunes of a group of former steel workers in Sheffield. With no jobs and no money, the men think they don't have much hope for the future - but when two of them discover just how popular a male strip show can be, they come up with a crazy plan to start up their own. They may just be normal blokes, and they might not really have the moves - but with a bit of practice and a lot of nerve they might just be able to crack it!

Personally, I really did not enjoy this film, the jokes were limp, the story was off putting and despite the superb acting of Robert Carlyle, this film has failed to win me over as an enjoyer of it. I have a feeling that this film will age poorly and like a lot of trendy films, will not look good a few years from now. I thought it offered average entertainment. It never gave me the impression that I was seeing something that mattered. Even the full monty as promised, was not delivered.

This film exceeded my expectations, I thought it was going to be really unfunny when I knew what the plot of the film was, but after watching it, I completely changed my mind. I thought there was a lot of comedy which i found really funny, which I wasn't expecting as it is a British comedy which I usually don't really find that funny, as I usually watch American comedies. The ending of the film was the most funniest part. As the film goes on, you get to know the characters and relate to their stories.

I'll admit that I wouldn't normally go watch this kind of movie. It seems like a typical lads movie at first which isn't really my thing, and it seemed a bit dull for my liking, and plus, they are not really that good looking so looking at them naked wouldn't really be that much of an appeal to me, so I judged it by its cover and didn't looks much as it. But after watching it I found out that i was so wrong. It was so good. The hilarity of the whole idea or stripping unravels into so much more along the progress of the film. It had so many more meaning that I first thought with each of the characters different identities and bodies, all so different but yet all doing the same thing. I found it to be a lot better than I first thought. Don't knock it till you tried it :~P

Few individuals can sustain such a ingenious witty plot on such a small running time. The heart was in the right place, the imagination was captured and was truly inspiring. There was not one moment when I thought it failed to succed greatness, and it kept me laughing the full way through. It is the most charming, warm hearted film I have ever seen and probably will ever see in the forseeable future. I loved the idea and the tactical twisted schemes and the way things turned out-pure magic.

When they have nothing to lose, the clothes are lost.

    Synopsis:
During the recession of the 1980s, six desperate ex-steel workers decide to become male strippers to put some “brass” together.

    Review
Bearing similarities to other films such as “Brassed Off” and “Billy Elliot” The Full Monty captured its audience with the brilliant plot and great cast.

However as you watch it you'll love the ex-con Gaz (Robert Carlyle) trying to keep his life together. And “tubby” Dave (Mark Addy) with the cling film.

The cast of the film is excellent in matching the name as the actors really do go all the way in brilliant acting. However there has to be a stick in the mud and it is clearly seen with William Snape's static and emotionless performance of Gaz's Son.

This film has many examples of role reversals such as Women being the earners in the family and the men, and Gaz being told by his Son to not do the things that he is doing to try and keep his family together.

This film shows the desperation of the unemployed men of Britain in 1980 and just how far the will be pushed when facing a situation such as they are. And despite the humorous and witty remarks you can still feel the down atmosphere of Sheffield during the recession.

And as you watch as they all slowly lose their morals.

The film in the end creates an illusion of a happy ending. Yet if you look at it deeply you see that the price they paid to achieve it was to surrender to surrender their principles.

    Verdict

Great cast, story and humour are combined to make this great film.
