During the Second World War, a new student called Jean joins a Catholic boarding school in Nazi-occupied France. His roommate Julien is suspicious of him at first, but the two boys - who are both lonely and find it hard to fit in - soon become friends. However, Julien discovers some secrets about Jean that eventually lead to tragedy. This is a moving story of friendship, kindness and betrayal. With English subtitles. PLEASE BE AWARE: After ordering Au Revoir Les Enfants, the disc you will receive may be marked as being a 12 certificate - however, this relates to the extra features on the DVD and not the film itself, which is certified with the BBFC as a PG. FILMCLUB has consulted the BBFC, and their guidance is that as long as a club leader screens only the film (and not additional features or audio commentaries etc), Au Revoir Les Enfants can be treated as a PG certificate in a school setting.
