Nine-year-old Frankie is deaf, and lives with his mum, Lizzie. But they move around a lot, and Frankie has never met his dad, a sailor on the HMS Accra - although he writes to him frequently, telling him all about his exploits. When Frankie realises the Accra is set to visit the small Scottish coastal town he's living in, he's over the moon at the chance to finally meet his father. But Lizzie's hiding a secret - they're on the run from Frankie's real father, and she's the one sending him the letters. Rather than reveal the truth, she decides to hire someone to act as Frankie's perfect dad for a day.

For me this film was a really good film, I found it quite upsetting but everyone says that if a film makes you cry then it means it's a good film. I really liked the story line of this story. I think that Emily Mortimer, Gerard Butler, Jack McElhone, Mary Riggans and Sharon Small acted this film out really well.

Dear Frankie is a film with feeling but I didn't feel that feeling because it wasn't exciting or adventurous. The only good part for me is when Lizzie Frankies mum went to see Frankies reall father. I recommend that the appropriate age is 10-13 becaueundr 10 it would be boring and wouldn't make senses to them however I think that over 13 would also be boring for them and they would not see the point I know that because I don't see the point of it because it was boring and there was nothing big going on for me I would not like to watch it again.

Dear Frankie is a sad film because Frankie is deaf and lives with his mother and grandmother. Even though Frankie doesn't get to see his father he still writes him letters , little does he know that it is really his Mum replying to his letters. In the end the boat that Frankie's Dad is supposed to work on is coming to Frankie's town. Will Frankie find out that his Dad is not there or not. I think this is a sad film because Frankie really misses his Dad. I would give this a age rating of 10+ because at times younger people might not understand what is going on. Overall I give this film 4 stars.

    Dear Frankie...
Dear Frankie is a very deep film which shows how somethings just aren't meant to be. Frankie is a 9 year old boy who is deaf - and that isn't deaf from birth - although tries not to let that in his way. Him and his mum have been moving around every few months to run away from the diasters his mum could face with him. Frankie writes letters to his father who is ' out at sea' although it is really his mum wiritng letters back. Mum has managed to run away from problems but she will take more than letters to run away from this one.

Dear Frankie is a movie about a boy called frankie who is deaf, he lives with his mother Lizzie. They are allways moving and in the movie at the begining they move. Frankie gets letters from his father who is a sailor. However it is actully his mother sending the letters and when Frankie finds out his fathers ship ( or what he thinks his fathers ship) is docking in town his thrilled and wants to meet his father. Lizzie has to find a stranger to be Frankie's father though Frankie dosn't know this. A good film if you enjoy sad films with romance. If it's adventure your seeking this is not the film for you as it is not the film for me. I recomend for ages 10-13 for it can be very counfusing!

Dear Frankie is a very deep film because it is about nine year old's life and Frankie and his mum have been running because of what has happened in their past. One day something goes wrong and they have to do something quick. But for Frankie and his mum things just keep getting worse. Frankie's mum wants to run again but she can't run from this disaster.
