At first, when Steven Kovacs breaks up with his girlfriend and moves into a plush but lonely bachelor pad, he's grateful for the friendship of Chip Douglas, the TV repair-man who illegally fixes him up with free cable. But soon, Steven begins to realise that Chip is needy, and lacks any boundaries - and that his obsession with old TV shows masks a much more serious personality problem. A much darker kind of comedy than fans of star Jim Carrey were used to when it first came out, the hilarious but hard-edged Cable Guy has since become a true cult favourite.

    was very slow and boring all the way throw,but was very funny at part over al I think it should ownly 1 star.

    a good film that taught me two very important lessons number 1 dont make friends witha cable guy and number 2 dont watch too much tv under any circumstances!! my favourite scene was the kareoke part even though the lip sync is a bit out when chip or larry (or whatever his name his you dont find out his real name) is singing his song.
    i also liked the bit where they were in the giant satalite dish fighting and stevens punch gets rid of the cable guys lisp hehe

    i thought this was a good film about a psycho cable guy who just wants a friend it was a bit crazy but the actors were realistic

    Very good sick and I really liked it . Also did I mention that it was sick. Cause it was funny and a proper film
