If you think Ozzy Ozbourne is the most ridiculous rock star you've ever seen, think again... Spinal Tap are a (fictional) over-the-hill British heavy metal band in the middle of a disastrous comeback tour. Filmed as a mock documentary, this hysterical cult classic makes fun of every rock cliche in the book (long-haired rockers, meddling groupies and terrible song lyrics to name a few!), creating the ultimate spoof movie.

A lot of the reviews on this one are negative. And, I feel on a persons first viewing, that's what it'll be. Even with me, the first time round, I found it bad. It took me a few times to really understand this movie. But, now - after repeated viewings - this is one of the funniest things I've seen. So, just a preliminary warning: if you do want to watch it, you shouldn't judge it by your first viewing. If you're going to see it, watch it a couple times. Now, onto the review.
It follows the story of the world's worst rock band in a documentary style. The things that happen to them are so unfortunate. Their machinery keeps acting up, their drummers keep dying, they have a cursed black album cover. But, it's just so funny to watch. It reminds me a lot of The Office. It feels genuine due to the documentary format, even though it's scripted and not a real band. The cast are amazing at pulling it off, and the accents are some of the best Cockney accents I've heard (far superior to Bale's accent in The Prestige). And this film is just so quotable. The quotes you can take from this are amazing. People are right when they say it's one of the most classic comedies ever. But heed my warning: watch it a few times to make sure it's understood.

I would have to say that this film actually made me laugh. However the endless jokes and soon enough began to bore me. If you enjoy a micky take then this is the film for you !

To be fair, I only watched half of this, but the first half was so bad I don't think it could've got much better. I didn't really understand the concept and it was just painful to watch. The only good part was that it brought on a funny conversation between me and my friends about what you can take through airports. This was horrible.

spinal tap is a film about a rock band and their lives as they are inteviewed it shows a few funny parts, but not very many as it was ment to be a comdy many people in the club like luke and nathan many people left and went to the park when it was showing and only left 3 or 4 people out of 20 to 25 spinal tap is a 'rockumentery' the reporers follow them on their us tour they were contantly sacing their crew to help them have a more profitable tour. this terrorable attempt at a spoof was a compleate waste of time, it is one of the worst films i have seen at film club so far. one of the only funny parts is when the gitarist got stuck in his plastic shell and eventual got out at the end and then got his arm stuck when he tried to get back in. it whould be better if they attualy tried to come up with good songs not just ones which the came up with out at dinner with the wife and wrote it down on the napkin.

    Spinal Tap Sinks Down
    Plughole

‘Spinal tap that’s supposed to be a cult classic should be good! ‘, that was my Dad’s reaction when I told him I was watching it at my film club. Good?! That’s hardly what I’d call it, awful and boring more like and my fellow film clubbers seemed to agree.
Spinal Tap is a ‘rockumentary’ that follows a spoof 1970’s British rock band, called Spinal Tap. The film follows the band on their first US tour, and sees them sacking members of their entourage and desperately trying to make their failing tour more profitable. It is a catalogue of disasters.
The characters were quite believable, but the storyline was poor and led nowhere. This film was let down by this factor, making it the worst film I’ve watched at film club. There were no highs or lows and no real events, just small practical jokes, that were only slightly funny.
This film is a poor attempt at a spoof and does not even come close to our modern rock films, such as School of Rock. It had a couple of funny parts, such as when the guitarist got stuck in the shell on stage. I can’t see how this is a cult classic, when it was this awful. It would also benefit from some real music, not just the noise we actually heard.
A weird film with no great names. I would give it 1/5 star rating.

This film was funny in some parts but does not meet all of my satisfactions as it gets a little bit boring.I cant really comment saying it was rubish because everyone likes different sort of films and genres so I would tell my friends to watc this and see iif it is there sort of film.
