An American novelist travels to Vienna just after World War II for a funeral and slowly discovers that his recently deceased friend was not the nice chap he remembered him as. For that matter, is he even really dead? A stunning thriller written by Graham Greene that makes great use of shadows and shabby glamour of post-war Vienna.

This film was confusing but yet thrilling every minute. If I was to recommend a classic I would recommend this,it may seem to a young mind very bad at first sight, but when you get into it it makes up for the loss of colour!Fast,Pacy and thrilling are one of the many sets of words to describe the film

I thoroughly enjoyed this film. Simply because it had a great storyline and it kept me on the edge of my seat. It was very mysterious and had great action scenes. It also got me thinking about what would happen next. It has to be one of the best thrillers I have ever seen.

Wow, this was a good film! It combined all the best things of a crime film, a mystery film and horror film. Harry Lime, strange name, strange man. He has definitely got his values all wrong on a huge scale. Everybody trusted him, but really Harry Lime only thought of himself. Imagine coming to a city you've only ever read about, to be greeted by the death of the only friend you've got in Vienna, who that is keeping you from floating away on the tide of knowing nothing in this new country. Well that's what happened to Holly Martins and his friend was unfortunately Harry Lime. Racial tensions between the different countries that then owned the place made everything even worse trying to find out the exact circumstances in which Lime died. But soon Holly has got himself mixed up in things he really doesn't want to know about. The cinematography in this film really messes with your emotions; all the shadow playing makes the suspense all most too good. Great film.

This film has to be the best black and white fiolm i have watched. It has the fear, the suspence, the ability to get you jumping out of your skin(if it was scary). There has been a death of someone and the deceased friend is determined to get to the bottom of it. He finds out it is a murder and then finds out something that changes the whole storyline. If i were you i would GRAB MY COPY NOW!!!
