Bringing to life the much-loved story by British poet Ted Hughes, The Iron Giant takes place in a quiet American town in the 1960s. The tale begins when a young boy named Hogarth follows a trail of huge footprints leading from his house into the woods - and finds an iron giant from space! Instantly the two form a firm friendship, and when the army try and destroy this enormous visitor, Hogarth does everything he can to protect his giant pal. Beautifully animated, this is a film with lots of wit and a huge amount of heart.

I like the movie The Iron Giant because it shows friendship for the little boy and the giant . It also has some funny moments that made me think its a nice and funny film . My best part was when the giant realised it can fly . The sound affects are realistic !

This film tells you that however big and scary you look it's about the heart and friendship. I recommend this film to everyone. It could be a family film, a one person film or something you just watch with your mates. My favourite part was when the iron giant jumped into the freezing cold pond and then he flooded the woods because it was funny. I disliked the bit when the army started shooting the giant.
