Bringing to life the much-loved story by British poet Ted Hughes, The Iron Giant takes place in a quiet American town in the 1960s. The tale begins when a young boy named Hogarth follows a trail of huge footprints leading from his house into the woods - and finds an iron giant from space! Instantly the two form a firm friendship, and when the army try and destroy this enormous visitor, Hogarth does everything he can to protect his giant pal. Beautifully animated, this is a film with lots of wit and a huge amount of heart.

This is such a good movie because it is all about a boy whose mam has to work nights and leaves her son Hogarth at home alone. He goes outside to the woods and finds a giant made out of iron and calls him the iron giant. The army think that the iron giant is dangerous and tries to kill it. A governor comes to stay at a spare room in their house and tries to find out if Hogarth has anything to do with the iron giant. Stupidly, the governor accidently sets off a missal into the sky when he tried to kill the giant.Bravely, the iron giant flies up into the sky and saves all of the people who live in the town. The army found the last remaining the window and goes to another country. Then all off the other pieces fly to the giant and then right at the end his head pops up out of the white, shiny, sparkling snow. HE IS ALIVE!
I absolutely love this movie because it is so sweet and sad at the same time!
I think you should be 5 and up to watch this film.

I liked this movie because of the giant, he is very funny and if you look at him he looks scary but his is nice. I loved the ending and I also loved how he eats metal as an iron giant. I loved the way he is not a gun(not mean).

I think it is a very dramatic film and I gave it a five star so far.It is full of excitement because of the good quality in this out of this world film. No one knows where this strange iron beast came from but as you know he will eat anything metal.
