With its wild chase scenes and twists in plot, Alfred Hitchcock's classic spy thriller will keep you on the edge of your seat. A mild-mannered man on holiday, Richard Hannay gets more than he bargained for when he befriends a mysterious woman in London - and then finds her murdered. On the run from the police, who suspect him of the killing, and from the spy ring she was trying to expose, Hanney flees to Scotland to try to uncover more clues - and prove his innocence.

Starring Robert Donat and Madeleine Carroll, The 39 Steps is a brilliant film to watch. Although it may be some 86 years old give it a go ; you'll surprise yourself ! Albert Hitchcock is a mastermind in this funny spy movie. It is perfect for introducing people to black and white movies. Some people (including me!) think that because films like this are extremely old they aren't as good as the cheesy Hollywood movies but The 39 Steps outranks basically all of those Hollywood films. I would definitely recommend this film to everybody that is a film lover, as I absolutely loved this film! This is probably one of the best movies i have ever seen (and I have seen quite a lot) so go on and try this movie today!
    I loved it!

39 Steps is a classic and is a brilliant story once you get into it. At first it seems like a romantic comedy but then the plot opens up and unwinds and there are so many red herrings, it twists and turns throughout the film. I thought this film was amazing, although sometimes it is abit hard to understand,, still great and that's why i'm giving it 4stars! I would definately recommend to anyone who hasn't seen this film!!

This amazing film will have you leaning over your your seats in no time .The plot :The 39 steps are an orgonisation of spies. The ''Memory ''had just preformed and out of nowhere started a row. When a man finds a spy on his hands. As quick as she came she was murdered and he tries to solve the crime alone, altogether I think this is a marvellous and will be enjoyed for many years to come.

At first i diddn't reallt understand this film but dont turn it off because when you get into it you should really enjoy it like I did. It isn't a hysterical spy film its more of a traditional film it wasnt the best film i've ever seen but not the worst so i would say give it a go you never know you might surprise your self. It is a bomb waiting to explode and when it does it explodes thrill. So this is why im giving this movie four stars!
