When his spacecraft crash lands on a strange planet in the year 3978, astronaut Taylor is simply glad to be alive. But barely has he stumbled from his vessel before he discovers the terrifying nature of this new world - a planet harshly governed by incredibly advanced apes, with what seem like humans forced to act as slaves. In his attempts to escape this nightmarish situation, Taylor leads us towards one of the most unforgettable climaxes in movie history, the perfect ending for a true sci-fi classic.

PLEASE BE AWARE: After ordering Planet of the Apes the disc you will receive will be marked as being a 12 certificate - however, this relates to the extra features on the DVD and not the film itself, which is certified with the BBFC as a PG.

FILMCLUB has consulted the BBFC, and their guidance is that as long as a club leader screens only the film (and not additional features or audio commentaries etc), Planet of the Apes can be treated as a PG certificate in a school setting.

Alot of people think that just because films are old, they are not as good. I didnt really enjoy this film, (NOT BECAUSE IT IS OLD) because, I don't know really. I just don't like it.
