A much-loved family classic, this endearing story introduces to us George Bailey, who one Christmas Eve decides that his life is a failure - he faces bankruptcy, arrest and imprisonment. George, however, has spent a lifetime putting others first, and before he takes any rash action, angel Clarence is sent down to earth to show him how his good deeds have done so much for others - and how much worse the world would be had George never lived.

This film has indeed received very much critical praise. I personally believe that this praise is most deserved as it was indeed a fantastic film. I could really empathise with the characters (especially Mr Potter) and it had some really quite interesting ideas. The only flaws were the distinct lack of the cowbell (which didn't even make a brief cameo appearance) and a lack of numbers which in been a maths student I consider to be very important to life. As these are little more than personal preferences, I feel that the film has indeed aged very well and should be viewed by anyone of any age.

Its a wonderful life is a very emotional and moving film. The message in this film is that not to always be seeking for something greater but to appreciate those around you and what you already have, I believe this film should be changed to colour as it is very relevant to today's society, always wanting more instead of appreciating what they have already got, I really enjoyed this film and would recommend it to all ages.
