Fighting aliens is all in a day's work for the cast of famous TV sci-fi show Galaxy Quest - actors pretending to be aliens, that is. Then one day the crew of the starship (who all appear to hate each other off-screen) find their fictional job has suddenly become real - and they have a crisis to deal with many light years from Earth. A clever, laugh-out-loud comedy that makes fun of classic sci-fi shows, but has much more to offer than just jokes about clingy costumes and pointy ears.

Galaxy quest is a hilarious and intergalactic film about actors who are mistaken for real space heroes by aliens who come down to earth to ask Commander Taggart (played by Tim Allen) and the rest of his crew for help. Along the way events of the episodes turn into reality. They face lots of problems across there journey back home to earth with help from fans to save the day. Overall if your a fan of cheesy, space and adventure films with cute baby monkeys that eat each other then this is the film for you.

This film is creative, ingenuitive and has some extraordinary acting involved, the actors managed to pull-of a simply amazing stunt-which could definitely prove quite difficult to do-they obtained acting out acting. This act was performed at the beginning of the movie and could have easily been misinterpreted as the start to a ‘cheesy’ film, which it was not. Filled to the brim with excitement, this movie contains fantasy, magnitude and brief complexity. The alien’s appearances varied from strange octopuses to cute but incredibly vicious ‘babies’ who would devour their own kind (if they were injured, of course) to the bone, obviously this made them cannibals and not too pleasant to be around. This film is immaculate and has thoroughly earned five stars!

At first this film seems like a cheesy star trek copy; but it had a lot more to it than that. I was surprised at the standard of these actors, (Tim Allen, Alan Rickman and Sigourney Weaver) they're normally great at acting, but they didn't seem to show there potential in this particular film; but near the middle my expectations rose, and the acting was superb. The hint of comedy hidden in the undergrowth of the film brought away the cheesy bits and converted them into funny bits. The emotion also rose as the film started to get nearer to the end. I will give this film 3 stars because of the hint of comedy and the emotional scenes. I will reccomend this to boys age 3-6 because of the monsters, and the comedy.
