Casablanca, Morocco is the place to be in early 1942 - it's where you just might be able to get hold the papers necessary for safe passage out of Nazi-controlled north Africa to the United States - papers which end up in the safekeeping of gruff American Rick Blaine (played by the legendary Humphrey Bogart), owner of Rick's Cafe. One night, a beautiful woman named Ilsa who once broke his heart walks into his bar - so will Rick be able to put aside his feelings to help her (and her husband) escape?

Famously, Humphrey Bogart never actually said 'Play it gain Sam,' - the catchphrase synonymous with the film.

I found the movie was tricky to understand at the beginning but when you got into it it was amazing and moved me at the end. I found this the saddest film we have watched yet, however wouldnt mind watching another like it. I thought the film was brilliant even though the voices started off really hard to understand at the beginning. I thought the setting was beautiful and it was a really nice bar it was set in. I found it so sweet when he said she should leave with her husband, however I kept expecting her to come through the mist at the end. I kept listening out for the famous lines in it like `here's to you kid` and `this could be the beginning of a beautiful friendship`.

I definitely didn't enjoy this film as much as all of the other movies but the end bit was quite moving at the end.Personaly I don't enjoy old films as much as new ones so I found this one a little boring and pointless at the beggining. It was a bit confusing when the good people turned bad. All of the men looked the same but otherwise it wasn't to bad.

Quite confusing but a very good film. Not enough action for my taste, but some older people might like it alot.

The film was boring because there was no action and it was all set in a pub and i would of liked if they set it in another place.

'He's looking at you kid' well everyone was! I couldn't take my eyes of the magic in the performance between Humphrey Bogart and Ingrid Bergman created so brilliantly by Michael Curtiz. Casablanca was a fantastic love story. Set in 1934 the nazis were just arriving in North Africa and that adds to how thrilling this movie is.

"This may be a start of a beautiful friendship." And it certainly was for me. I loved this film the first time I saw it, and I still love it now. Casablanca is a war story to remember, the effortless telling of both the lesser and larger ways of life in the amazing city. The film is the story of Rick Blaine, played by Humphrey Bogart, a man who seems not care what side he's on. Then when Ingrid Bergman, a mysterious woman from Rick's past comes into the bar that he has worked so hard to create, things stop going so smoothly for him. The back drop of the WWII makes this film a love story triumph. I love the start, the end and everything in-between.
