A hugely influential Italian film of the 1940s, Bicycle Thieves shows ordinary people in ordinary situations, and features non-professional actors in all roles. Out of work for some time, Antonio eventually gets a job sticking up posters in his native Rome. When the bicycle he needs to keep his job is stolen, Antonio and his son cover the length the city in fruitless pursuit - until eventually, in desperation, he himself steals a bike... I didn't enjoy this film at all. I didn't mind that it was in black and white or had subtitles because i quite like these traits in a film. I think they murdered a good film idea. It started off alright when he bought his bike back and then it got stolen. After this event it got tedious and i struggled to carry on watching it. The end of the film was severely disappointing. The time i spent watching that film could of been spent in a more constructive way such as doing my homework. It was that bad. I'm serious.

In my opinion I thought that this film was one of the worst films I have seen.First of all it was in black and white and second of all it was in French but of course we did have subtitles. The film was called "Bicycle thieves" and it was about a man who had a job as a brick layer and that job contained a bicycle and the man who's name was Ricci had a bicycle and it was all going well but one day Ricci and his son Bruno discovers that the bicycle has been stolen Ricci is sooooo sad and angry he accuses another man of stealing it but the man that Ricci accuses is innocent. Ricci and Bruno have to sell all there sheets and items of bedding to get money to buy a new bicycle, but they hardly get enough money to buy a nail to screw into the bicycle never mind a bicycle. In the end Ricci is so desperate for money he loses his mind and he steals someone else's bicycle but he did not get away with it. My favourite character is Bruno because he is sweet in all kind of different ways. The shots were olright espeshelly the shots of the all the people shopping in the market. All together I give this film a two.

"The Bicycle Thieves"was a good film but it was all in french, and when we put the subtitles up it was going to fast for me,so I didn't no wat have film was about, and it was in black and white. But on the other hand I could understand a little bit of it because of the pictures. My favorite character was Bruno, the little boy.The story was about a man and a little boy,eni way Antonio, the father was a brick layer.Antonio whent to this man because there man askt if he would like a job,out of all the men he got chosen as a man who puts up posters in the dirty streets, but somthing bad happens, his bicycle got stolen,he tried to get him but he was to fast on the bicycle and nobody helpt him,but when tried to steel sombody els's bicycle effory body came at him and pusht him of and hurted him.I would give this film three stars out of five, and I would recomend this film to ten and over.

In my opinion it was quite a good film, it was a bit slow and boring at the start it became a bit more exciting by the end. Some of the down sides to me were that it was in black and white, and it was in French, we did have subtitles though. It was more difficult to watch the film when you had to read the subtitles. The black and white was interesting to see, but I prefer colour films.
The film was set in a time when work was hard to come by. The film was about a man who has his bike stolen, and spends lots of time looking for it with his son. This man's bike meant the world to him because without it he would lose his job. This made me feel pity for the man.
The main character was Ricci, he was the man that had his bike stolen from him. I empathised the most with the little boy, Ricci's son because he had to follow his dad everywhere. Ricci's family was very poor and had to sell bed sheets to get enough money to buy a bike. That made me feel glad that I'm living now not then.
I liked the shots there were a lot of close ups, concentrated on one person. There were also shots taken from faraway in places, where there was a lot of people or a lot of things happening. There wasn't many special or sound effects in this film, I think that's because it's an old film.
I would recommend this for older children year five and up, because they would understand what was happening more. I understood most of the film but there were some parts I didn't understand so much. This isn't a film that I would be watching again in a hurry. It wasn't as good as I expected. I'm going to give this film two stars out of five.

In my opinion the film was boring because the whole script was in French, it was a black and white film and I did not understand the meaning of the story. When we put the subtitles on they were going too quickly. So when the characters of the film were talking the subtitles were zooming round everywhere. My favorite character was Bruno, the little boy of the film. I will tell you a little bit about the story. A family who lived in France were very poor and could not get enough money to put food on the table. The father of the family was a brick layer. They were so poor that they sold the bed sheets just to have some more money for the family. Antonio (the father) got offered a job as a man who puts up posters in the dirty old streets. But something bad happened. His bicycle got stolen, so he had lost his job. And he, out of all men had been offered the job. He was very unlucky to have a brand new bike and to have had it stolen. That is why I am giving this boring French film one star out of five stars.
