Stanley Kubrick's epic take on Arthur C. Clarke's story is a classic sci-fi tale told in four parts. Beginning when apes ruled the planet, one group discover an alien monolith, and soon after their first use of weapons. Fast forward to 1999 and a space mission to the moon unearths a similar monolith. Then, in 2001, on a mission to Jupiter is the space ship Discovery, which is run by revolutionary computer HAL 9000 and proves to be far more intelligent than intended....
