Bringing Shakespeare's The Taming of the Shrew to a setting in a modern American high school, the fast-paced and very funny 10 Things I Hate About You combines the Bard's dialogue with a brilliantly up-to-date attitude. When new boy Cameron arrives at Padula High School, he instantly falls for Bianca Stratford - but his hopes of winning her heart take a tumble when he learns that Bianca will never be allowed to date by her father until her rebellious older sister Kat has done so first. And so, without her even knowing it, the search for a suitable boyfriend for Kat begins!

A humorous film. The story dragged out and I didn’t particularly like the ending, but over all it was a good film. Some of the characters seemed to lose their character as the film went on. Onto the good points, the stunt with the microphone and band on the football field was funny.

the best thing about 10 things i hate about you is all the funny parts when i first watched the film i wanted to watch it over and over again it was so funny but at the end it was abit upsetting when she read the poem out to the class and she started crying at the start theres this new boy and he likes this girl taht is really popular and because he likes her so much he does so many stupid things he says things to this naughty lad and says do u like this gorl because i like her sister and he says he dont know her but the new boy askes him for a favour and askes him to go out on a date with her n in the middle of the film they both go to the prom but she finds out that its just a plan to get the new boy with her sister but at the end they all make up and the bad lad and the girl go out after all

This is a teen film at perfection! I’ve had this film for at least ten years and I’ve seen it so many times because it’s one of those where you can watch it over and over and over…
You wouldn’t guess that it’s based on the Taming of the Shrew, but it really is a modern version of the classic Shakespeare play! It’s about a feisty gal (Kat) that everyone’s intimidated by…And one guy that’s paid to take her out!
Plus, it’s not easy for Kat, since her sister is one of the most popular girls at her school (not that she cares, of course…)
I should probably mention that they have a super strict dad who is paranoid about teenage pregnancy and drugs. Whoever said it was easy being a single parent with two daughters?
This film really is very much one of “how do I loathe thee? Let me count the ways…” For all you young teens yearning for something fun, relaxing and easy to follow, then this is the film for you!

This film had a really good plot. This might or might not have anything to do with the story originally coming from Shakespeare. Anyway, we liked the twists and turns. The actors were great, especially Heath Ledger. It’s a great shame that we’ve lost this acting talent.
Fascinating facts
Heath Ledger quotes several lines that are taken from 'The Taming Of The Shrew', which '10 Things I Hate About You' is based upon.
