Review of the week
(19 May 08 - 25 May 08)

Here at FILMCLUB we don't want to tell you which movies are great - we want you to tell us, and everyone else.

This weeks review of the week comes from:

Sam from Alsager (Aged 14)

Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade

5 stars out of 5 23 May 2008

What can I say? I have loved this film ever since I first saw it, and, being the best one of the trilogy (not counting the new one) it does not disappoint. The acting is superb, the script is top-notch and the chemistry between Ford and Connery on-screen is fantastic. It also has some great action scenes, despite some showing their age. Overall, it really is a brilliant film, with plenty of in-jokes and one-liners to keep you going for a long, long time. Perfect.

In my opinion this film was frustrating and annoying to watch. The way in which the director chose to show this true story leaves the viewer bored and wanting more after the first ten minutes. Also, some of the acting was very poor. I understand that the director wanted to show that it was just an ordinary school day like any other but watching someone simply walking to a lesson for five minutes was extremely unexciting. I thought this would make the actual shootings have a bigger impact but it didn't, it seemed very casual and you are expecting more- this is the case throughout the film. I thought it was clever that the entire film was the same few hours shown from different people's viewpoint but it becomes very irritating when you are seeing something for the second or third time. I thought the film could have been a lot better, i gave it 2 stars only because the story behind the film was interesting.

i loved this film, i was instantly hooked. it is very moving and gives you an insight into what life is like for those living in poverty. This is one of my favourite films i have watched at film club so far and if it had not been for film club i doubt i would have ever watched it. very good!
