Review of the week
(28 Apr 08 - 4 May 08)

Here at FILMCLUB we don't want to tell you which movies are great - we want you to tell us, and everyone else.

This weeks review of the week comes from:

The Lion King

30 April 2008

I love this film with great songs and lyrics by Elton John. No matter how many times I see it i cry when Simba's ( the main character) dad dies. This tragic event was caused by Scar ( the evil villan that wants to be king) but he makes Simba believe it was him. Simba runs away to find some great friends ... his old friend Nana comes to find him... to hear the rest you must watch it! I love this film and it was followed by a brilliant musical one of which we are performing at school. Lion King is the best!!!!

Elephant

2 stars out of 5 28 April 2008

The reason i gave this film a two was because of the slow moving basicly shot scenes. I found myself wanting more from the film after the first 10 minutes. All of the scenes were done by only one camera angle. I know this is because they wanted to make the effect of looking through the eyes of an ordinary, everyday student, but after a while it got boring and fustrating. Also i was disapointed with the acting. for example, when one of the student got shot, instead of rushing to him, the teacher just said, "get up" and mumbled. I think i would have given this film a one if it was not based on a true story.

Rabbit-Proof Fence

28 April 2008

I thought it was sad and horrible the way they where treated badly. I liked the ending when she got back to her mummy. It was a really touching film about different peoples lifes and what really happens in real life not everyones life is the same.

Oliver Twist

28 April 2008

I didn't like the way Oliver was treated in the film, he was kidnaped by the biggest thief in the town and was always doing what he was told to stay alive and for somewhere dry to put his head down for a nights sleep. He had to steal food to fed himself. I thought the film was good and shows us what it was like to live in them days. We are lucky we have parents to put clothes on are back and food in are tummys. 7/10
